In Argentina, the conclusion of collective bargaining agreements for 2025 is underway, which provide for wage increases in several stages. The general agreement ensures raises in six tranches: 1.2% in September, 1.1% in October, and 1% in November, December, January, and February. The meat workers' unions confirmed increases for November (2.5%), December (2%), January (1.8%), and February (1.7%). In the insurance sector, an agreement of 9.84% was reached, staggered over four months. Producers and channels closed a 9.26% increase in three stages: 3% in October, 4% in November, and 2.26% in January. The Foundry and Maintenance Workers' union (SOM) reached an agreement for a 9.68% update over four months, valid until January 31, 2026. Bakers continue to apply the agreed-upon increase stages from last October, which is 4.37% to the base salary plus a 2.22% non-remunerative bonus. Mechanics (SMATA) reached a deal for a December increase that will set the base salary for the highest category at 1,633,051.18 pesos and 816,537.58 pesos for the lowest. In healthcare (FATSA), there will be a cumulative 1.5% increase in December and a cumulative 1.5% in January. Commerce workers (FAECYS) closed a 1% increase on November's figures and are currently in talks for further raises. In construction (UOCRA), there will be a 1.4% increase on October's base salaries plus a non-remunerative payment in two biweekly installments, and an additional 1.3% in December, calculated on the already updated November values. In the television sector (SATSAID), there will be a 2.3% non-remunerative increase in November, to be paid in December, and a 3.5% increase in November, calculated on the October salary base. According to a survey by the Argentine News Agency, some of the unions that secured the best collective agreements in December were those for oilseed industry workers, metalworkers, bank employees, insurance workers, foundry and maintenance workers, bakers, and television workers. In the final stretch of the 2025 collective bargaining agreements, the main unions reached the following figures: UOM (metalworkers): October 2025: 35,000 non-remunerative; November 2025: 4.2% remunerative + 15,000 non-remunerative; December 2025: 35,000 non-remunerative; January 2026: 4.2% remunerative + 15,000 non-remunerative; February 2026: 25,000 non-remunerative; March 2026: 35,000 non-remunerative. Bank employees: The inflation adjustment agreed upon brought the initial salary to nearly 2 million pesos plus the 'Bank Employee's Day' bonus (1,708,032). Oilseed industry workers: They reached an understanding that placed the initial basic salary for the peon category at 2,075,186 pesos in November 2025, 2,100,000 pesos in December 2025, and 2,344,000 pesos from January 1, 2026. Truck drivers: A general 1% increase on November's base salaries.
